Races
The first competitions were Norwegian army units competing for sport and prizes during the 18th century. In the mid 19th century, the first race on record is 1842. Today, international level athletes compete in World Championships from European countries to Quebec City and Monte Sainte Anne. Races are divided into men and women's categories. For lower level competitions, they divide the categories by gender and age of the athlete. There are classic ski races and skate ski races.
